10 Ways to ‘Spice Up’ Your Autumn

'Spice Up' Your Autumn - blog title

Hello my lovely Truuties,

In some countries, autumn is a season that can sometimes seem dull. In some countries, it’s the best season ever! Although I’m in rainy England (personally I love the rain though…but not when it’s to do with natural disasters…), I think there is so much beauty in it so today I’m going to share with you some things that have helped me to really value and ‘spice up’ the season! Whether you love it already or not, hopefully, this could give you a few ideas! 🙂

♥ Enjoy the outdoors – There is so much to discover during autumn. The leaves fall with crispness and colour, the air feels fresh, the wildlife is gorgeous, you can wrap up and feel cosy and just admire the autumnal atmosphere of the outdoors. As you can see in some of these photos, I went on a little bike ride with my mum, which was so lovely! Also, last week I went on a nice walk with my dad and we came up with some great conker puns – it was a load of fun! (‘Conker-ing my fears’ etc…)

♥ Hot drinks – A good hot chocolate is something I always look forward to. Whatever your prefered hot beverage is, I do suggest warming-up cosily with it and taking some time to relax. It is so lovely to have a hot drink on a cold day and to treat yourself to that exquisite deliciousness!

♥ Embrace the nostalgia – I don’t know about you, but sometimes, during autumn, I catch a moment of nostalgia. There’s something in the atmosphere and recognisable-ness of the season that creates memories with such clarity that I often feel nostalgic about things that have happened in past autumns. It’s a beautiful thing. So if you ever feel that kind of nostalgia, please, don’t let it go right away – I think it is wonderful to embrace that feeling for a little moment.

♥ Positivity – Instead of thinking, ‘It’s so dull and rainy.’ perhaps we could change that for a, ‘I love seeing the seasons change!’? Honestly, I think there is so much to be positive about during autumn! I mean, just read through this list; there’s a lot of wonderfulness about this season! 🙂

♥ Savour every moment – Let’s not get lost thinking about what we’re about to do next all the time. It’s something I’ve struggled with a lot but I’m gradually learning to fully live in the ‘now’ because I know that every moment is so precious! You know what? This year’s autumn will never come again – why let it pass without savouring each and every moment?

♥ Excitement without the rush – CHRISTMAS IS COMINGGGG!!!! I do love Christmas…a lot. But I want to make the most of this autumn without rushing on to the Christmas vibes. As exciting as it is, autumn has wonders of its own so I’m going to be excited without ignoring the beauty of now. 🙂

♥ Be inspired – Nature can give us lots of inspiration. For example, if you love writing poems, maybe having a look at the autumnal outdoors could give you some ideas for a poem! I’ve got some inspiration for blog posts! 🙂 Maybe you love photography or something more academic like maths or science…whatever you love doing, I’d like to encourage you to try and find some inspiration from the season of autumn!

Colours – Well aren’t the autumn colours simply stunning and so beautiful? The reds, oranges, yellows, greens, browns or if I’m fancier – auburns and golds! If you’re like me and love some fashiony stuff – go dive into the season and incorporate the natural colours into your style! If you’re an artsy person, you could use those colours in your work!

♥ Learn – There is so much to learn from the seasons! I found a quote which reads…

Autumn, the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful. ~Heather A. Stillufsen

♥ Be you – Most of all, please don’t enjoy autumn the way everyone else does. Enjoy it in a way that you love the most. Sometimes, it might seem like we all need to love Pumpkin Spiced Lattes or aesthetic things to have a good autumn. If you like that kind of thing – great! If you don’t, that’s great too! 🙂 We’re all different so I think we need to spend this season in the way that suits us best.

I hope you will all have or are having a lovely autumn! 🙂

Lots of love,

I would love to hear from you in the comments!

Which one of these ways to ‘spice up’ your autumn do you like the most? Are you an autumn fan (it’s okay if not!)? How do you love to spend this season? What’s your favourite thing about autumn?

Truutiful Chats #1

Truutiful Chats

Hello my lovely Truuties,

I’ve decided to start a new series called ‘Truutiful Chats’. Yay! 🙂 I want to connect with my wonderful readers (aka Truuties) lots more and I’d love it if we could get to know each other better so that we can create and grow the #truutyfam. As well as this, these posts can be my space to pour out a little bit of my creativity and imagination. This is the first post of the series so we’ll see how it goes! If you have time, please do comment after you’ve read this! xx

Imagine we’re walking through a beautiful tunnel of trees, the auburn leaves falling down, thickening the thin blanket beneath us. There’s still some green hanging around for a bit longer but the transition between summer and autumn is simply magnificent. The breeze is gentle; lightly brushing past our ears. Kicking the leaves up with my ankle boots, I start to chat with you about my life lately.

Recently I’ve become so busy! I mean, I really need to live out my time management skills! *remembering the long list of things I’m doing this season :/* But, it’s exciting! So, basically, this is what’s going on in my life this autumn…

With a few of my friends, I’m leading the Christian Union at my school from this year – eek! I’m really looking forward to getting to know more people, growing friendships, growing in faith and spreading the love of Christ at my school!

I’ve got two ballet exams this November, one of them happening in London, at the Royal Academy of Dance! *looking excited and scared at the same time haha* I have a lot to practice. Leading up to the exams, I have extra exam-coaching at the dance school I go to, every Sunday! In total, I will be doing six dance lessons a week for the next couple of months – wow – such a blessing to have the opportunity to learn so much about one of my main passions! However, I won’t be going to church for some time because of that and I also won’t have as much time to do other things. 😦 That’s okay though hehe. Despite all the mixed emotions, I’m sure the exams will be amazing experiences to remember!

It will be my birthday this season – yayyy! I’m super excited!! My best friend is coming for a sleepover (on the weekend before my birthday)! 🙂 Hopefully, I’ll get some things planned to do with some other friends too!

As well as the homework and projects from school, I need to do lots of study towards my Japanese GCSE (which I’m doing earlier than the rest of my GCSEs)! I’ll be doing it in the first half of next year – 2018 – I really need to start doing full-on revision for it now! The main thing I need to learn is the kanji. I have to remember 200 of them! *a very similar expression on my face as to when I was talking about my ballet exams* But I’m looking forward to it!

I will be planning a few things for my baptism in the next several months. Very very exciting! 🙂 I’m hoping that lots of my friends will come and then we could maybe have lunch together afterwards. We’ll see.

During Autumn I would really love to write lots of blog posts. This season I seem to get many ideas and the creative side of me definitely flourishes! I just need to manage my time well and then I’ll be able to continue my bloggy-ness through the busy-ness! 🙂

After a lovely chat together, we head back to our homes, breathing in the crisp autumn air. What a wonderful afternoon!

What would you be telling me in this chat? Where would you like to have our near-future Truutiful Chats? e.g. cute cafe, by a cosy fireplace…

Sons and Daughters of the Perfect Father

Sons and Daughters of the Perfect Father - blog title

Hello my lovely Truuties,

We all long to be cared for by a perfect father. That intimate safety and comfort is something that, even if we don’t realise, everyone needs. Some of you may have wonderful, caring dads whilst some of you may not feel any kind of good relationship between you and your dad, or perhaps you just don’t always get on very well with him. Some of you may have never met your dad and some of you may have a dad who has passed away. These situations can be really tough. Whatever situation you are in, good or bad, you and I need a perfect father.

I believe that God is the perfect father. Isn’t it amazing that the greatest being and the one who is completely flawless and incomparable to any of us loves us so much that He wants a relationship with us as close as being our dad? He is a God who brings wonder and awe into our lives and has a power so great that it is unimaginable! Yet, He cares for every single person so intimately that He calls you his child; his son or daughter.

When you face difficulties, you can turn to your heavenly Father. When you are feeling happy or sad, you can turn to your heavenly Father. Whatever emotions are in your heart, you can run as you are to your perfect dad – God – who loves you with an everlasting love and has open arms that are so ready to embrace you.

Whether you have an earthly dad who you can chat to or not, everyone needs the comfort of God, the best dad ever! 🙂 He is everything we want and more from a father.

These two songs below are so beautiful and powerful! I really do suggest that you listen to them. 🙂

Lots of love,

Truuty xx

I would love to hear from you in the comments!

The Next Academic Year – My Hopes For Truth and Beauty Blog

The Next Academic Year - My Hopes For Truth and Beauty Blog - blog title.png

Hello my lovely Truuties,

It feels so good to be writing a blog post again! I’ve been quite busy and just never really got round to blogging but don’t worry, I’m still hoping to continue the growth of this blog! Most importantly, I’m hoping to continue the growth of this community, that you are a part of, which I like to call the Truuty Fam. 🙂

So these are my hopes for Truth and Beauty, in the next academic year…

  • Be more consistent
  • Slightly narrow down the topics I write about
  • Plan ahead and write throughout the week so I’m not rushed on the day I want to post
  • Build a stronger and larger community
  • Improve the quality of my writing
  • Improve my photography skills
  • Continue to dream big for the future of this blog
  • Encourage, bless and inspire
  • Continue to pray about this blog and follow God’s plans for it
  • Grow my @truuty_blog Instagram
  • Share more about my faith in Jesus
  • More content within each post
  • Trust that God will do amazing things through this blog
  • Get to know more people I can share my passions with
  • Impact lives

The journey so far…

Thank you so much for all that you have already done to help this blog grow! Whether you were here to see new-born Truuty, here to read any of my past blog posts or this is your first time visiting my little corner of the Internet – a massive thank you to you! You have been a part of something so special to me; something that I believe is in God’s plan for my life – Truth and Beauty Blog! 🙂

The journey to come…

If you would love to continue this journey of making all those hopes become reality, please carry on reading my posts! 🙂 As well as this, prayer will be greatly appreciated! Also, I love kind and honest comments (which I always find super duper encouraging!!), lovely followers and likes on my posts. This is because they help more people to find my blog and they motivate me so much – not because of the numbers and popularity but because I want to reach out to many people and grow a wonderful community, the Truuty Fam.

Thank you again and let’s embark on this mission to make our hopes become reality! However, I believe that it won’t be out of my strengths or your strengths that anything becomes reality. It will be by the greatness of the Lord!

50 Things You Could Do This Summer (Ideas)

50 Things You Could do This Summer - blog title

Hello my lovely Truuties,

Summer is on its way! I’ve decided that this year, I’m going to plan my summer properly so that I can make the most of it! 🙂 The first step (in my opinion) for planning the summer is having some ideas of what sort of things you might like to do. I had a think about it, came up with some things to do, looked online for more ideas and now have my own list. Hopefully, this will give you a few ideas for the summer and maybe help you plan in advance. I’ve added things that I personally won’t be doing but some of you lovely Truuties might like to do. So this is ’50 Things You Could Do This Summer’ (in no particular order)! 🙂

  1. Go for a walk in the countryside
  2. Go camping
  3. Go cycling
  4. Have a picnic
  5. Go to the beach
  6. Travel within the country you live in (e.g. explore the capital city)
  7. Make summery drinks (e.g. homemade lemonade, smoothie…)

  49. Relax and reflect
  50. Do what you enjoy

I know that nearly everyone (including me) won’t do all of the things on this list but I’d like to encourage you all to do number 50. Do what you enjoy. Whether you’re extremely busy, not busy at all or going through a hard time, try to enjoy your summer. It’s not about doing what the media tells you to do during this season. It’s not about what you’re expected to do. We don’t all enjoy spending our time in the same ways. It’s about finding what your heart tells you to do and choosing to do what brings you joy.

Lots of love,

Truuty xx

The Perfect Dance – Serves 7 Billion (A Poem Inspired by Benjamin Zephaniah)

A Poem Inspired by Benjamin Zephaniah - blog title

Hello my lovely Truuties,

Today I have something a little different for you – a poem! I really enjoyed writing this at school and although it’s not a super-high level of English or anything like that, I love it and I hope you will too! 🙂

The Perfect Dance – Serves 7 Billion (Inspired by Benjamin Zephaniah’s poem, ‘The British (serves 60 million)’):

Prepare some moves, music and art,

then immerse them in creativity and personality.

Stir in the necessities –

passion with expression

and a sprinkle of reflection.

Don’t forget the musicality and some accuracy,

cook it in emotion and devotion,

excitement and enjoyment.

Always remember the story-line,

and a little mime.

Put in a dollop of movement and self-improvement,

and some amusement? (optional)

Blend in the communication and association,

but don’t leave out your medium and most importantly,

a feeling of freedom.
