A Day in London

Hello, Truuties!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter! On Tuesday I went to London for a day, with my parents, and we had a wonderful time. For today’s post, I’m going to share some photos from our day trip – enjoy!

We took the high-speed train to St Pancras and then took the underground to Covent Garden.

When we got to London (we went to Covent Garden), we had a quick little look around before getting a snack.

I had a very yummy muffin at Peyton and Byrne and my mum had an interesting looking orange and plum cake thing (Haha sorry – I’m not very good at describing cakes!) which she said was very nice. And my dad had one of his favourite foods, a bacon sandwich!

Then it was the big event of my life…something I will remember forever…I got my first pair of pointe shoes!! I always get so excited just at the thought of it! I have pointe shoes! Yayyyyyy!! I remember dreaming of dancing in pointe shoes when I was younger and now I actually own my own pair!

We walked from Peyton and Byrne (the cafe) to the Bloch shop where I got my pointe shoes fitted by a very kind lady. It was an amazing experience! As well as the pointe shoes (and ribbon for the shoes etc.), my parents bought me a very cute mini pointe shoe keyring and a journal called ‘The Dancer’s Journal’! I was super happy with my visit to the Bloch shop!

After getting my pointe shoes, we had a little walk around and took some photos which was really fun.

In Floral Street, there is a twisty bridgeย called ‘ The Bridge of Aspiration’ and it provides the dancers of the Royal Ballet School with a direct link to the Royal Opera House. (Haha I kind of copied that description from the Royal Ballet School website…click here to find out more about The Bridge of Aspiration.) It was really nice to take a few photos of that.

We had a look around the Covent Garden market area and went to The Moomin Shop which was so cool even though we didn’t buy anything there!

For lunch, we went to a restaurant called Le Pain Quotidien. Their food was so deliciousย and I really enjoyed my meal. I had the soup of the day, which was Cream of Tomato, and I had avocado toast! I now have avocado toast for breakfast!

After lunch, we walked to The British Museum. We had a look around and it was amazing! The building is so big! I would love to go again to see more exhibits!

We walked to Oxford Street and as we were getting soaked from the rain and were hungry, we went to Costa and I had a hot chocolate and a chicken wrap! After that, we had the energy to take the underground to Forever21. My mum bought me a lovely navy and white stripey top and some cute bunny socks! “Thanks, Mum! xx”

Then it was time to go home. I had a really good day packed with exciting and fun events! It will be a day to remember always!

Lots of love,

Truuty xx

I would love to hear from you in the comments!

How have your Easter (or Spring) holidays been (if you have Spring holidays in your country)? Do you remember buying or getting anything special, like I got my first pair of pointe shoes? (My grandad remembers getting his first pair of spike shoes for athletics!) Have you been to London before? What do you like about London?

  5. Thank you for your comment, Hope. That’s good to hear! Haha yes, I have a lot chocolate left! Oh no…poor you :(, it’s good that you are doing other things than revising as well though! ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, I’ve really been enjoying the Easter holidays, thank you. I have a science project to do but it isn’t too big and I don’t have to revise everyday like you so that should be fine. I have been doing lots of fun things and the highlight of my Easter holidays is definitely going to London and getting pointe shoes! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a lovely day xx
